Do people go to Dockers on Federal & Griffin to watch games? I didn't pay attention to where games could be seen before because I had cable, which I've sadly had to cut, but the name rings a bell for some reason. I also saw a Panthers banner in their window when I passed by. I moved close to that area so if they show Panthers games (or any other hockey - though that's doubtful), that'd be perfect.

Now that the season is over for the Panthers, what do the Panthers do next.
Let's see, who do we buy out if any, who do we trade, who do we try and get at FA
and who do the Panthers draft this year.
Then lets talk about what young guy has the best chance to make the team next year.
IMO, Dale Tallon has a tough job ahead. With all the young guys that we had to play
this year they gained a ton of playing time they would not of gotten.
So does Skille, Kuba, Jovanovski, Weaver, Parros, Upshall, Clemmer and Theodore
just to name a few still have a job with the Panthers.
With all the young guys playing this year they made huge strides, but I don't see a bunch
of them making the team next year. I can see a couple at the most, Shore maybe and one
other one, not counting the draft pick we get this year. With at least a 3rd pick, that pick
should be good enough to make the team next year.
I believe that Markstrom has earned a spot on next years team with his play this year.
I myself believe that both Clemmer and Theodore are gone one way or another.
Then we have the Cap going down. So who will stay and who will have to go on a lot of other
teams. As there are teams that will need to shed salary.
See we have lots to talk about this offseason.

Now that we are essentially out of the playoff race, barring a miracle run, I'm starting to get excited for next year! I am looking forward to a healthy 2013/2014 season. Assuming our current position in the standings, if we get the 3rd overall pick, I could see our lines being something like:
Fleischmann Weiss Versteeg
Drouin Matthias Huberdeau
Mueller Shore Kopecky
Bergenheim Bjugstad Howden
This is assuming Markstrom, Mueller, Weiss, Matthias, Brennan, and Strachan all re-sign, which I think they will. Although I do like Skille's work ethic, I'm not sure he would really fit in next year, so I don't see him being resigned. I would love to see Upshall, Kuba, Clemmensen and Jovanovski traded, but I doubt there would be many takers. Goc is also a solid player, but could be on the trade block.
Overall, I feel this would be a really solid group if they can stay healthy. Markstrom seems ready to carry the team, and although I'd like to have a more consistent backup, Clemmensen probably wouldn't get too many games anyway. Any other upcomers that might make the team next year?

Season ticket holder and have been watching his play and in my opinion he hurts the team more than he helps. Just my opinion. Please let me know if you know something I don't.

The one that we will hold on too is the plus minus. The cats are now leading the lead with a negative 18.

There have been numerous reports, which I will call mere speculation and editorial pieces, questioning the confidence Florida Panthers' ownership has in GM Dale Tallon after a disastrous season. In this "win now" sports culture we live in, it is possible there is some slight merit in asking this question. However, I think it's preposterous to think anything less than Tallon is the GM for the Panthers for now and the extended future.
Most fans outside of South Florida cannot comprehend how important last season was for this franchise and its fan base that was starving for over a decade for ANY kind of success. Winning their first division title in franchise history and making the playoffs for the first time in 12 years was such an amazing ride. Coming within one goal in double overtime in Game 7 against the Eastern Conference Champion Devils further validated the Panthers are on the right track.

after bostons defeat we are almost certain of a first to third pick.the way its going-we all but need to win all remaining games n lose the lottery to not get first pick-and even then we should get second.
considering we get first(we likely will)who would you guys pick-the scouts say:
1-defenseman seth jones
2-center nathan mackinnon
3- lw-jonathan drouin
for me after the jay bo disaster at over all pick a few years back, n our lack of scoring -im not so great on picking a defenseman first. we also went out n got alot of young centers, although mackinnon does look good.i think maybe we should trade up somehow n take the third pick-lw drouin.
any thoughts or other prospects that look good?

“Nobody in my family played hockey,” said Vincent Trocheck. “No cousins or siblings or anything like that. My dad never played, but my family enjoyed watching the Penguins, especially since they had just won the Cup, so that got me into it.”
Most families living in the Pittsburgh area in the early 90s couldn’t help but be swept up in Pittsburgh Penguins fever. Two Stanley Cup Championships in 1991 and 1992, and the likes of Jaromir Jagr, Mario Lemieux, and Ron Francis early in their Hall of Fame careers was a recipe for euphoria in the Steel City.
But unfortunately with Lemieux battling cancer and Jagr having to carry the load during the next few campaigns, the Penguins were desperately trying to regain their status as perennial Cup contenders leading up to the 1995-1996 season.
Vincent Trocheck was born July 11th, 1993. When he was two-years-old, the lifelong burn to play this great game was ignited. Although there were no hockey players in the family, they did not stand in the way of his interests.
